The past year was a period of increased work in Polskie LNG. It contributed to excellent results of President Lech Kaczyński's LNG Terminal in Świnoujście and the timely implementation of the LNG Terminal Expansion Program. As part of the latter initiative, in late 2018, the company launched two tender procedures, for the development of the so-called onshore part (additional regasification installation, third LNG storage tank and LNG-to-rail transhipment system) and the offshore part (i.e. additional jetty).
PGNiG strengthens its position in the small-scale LNG market, with almost 18% more liquefied gas dispatched by the Company from Świnoujście last year than in 2017.
Polish LNG Platform was present at the kick-off seminar of the CEF, MoS project “Cargo capacity upgrade and LNG bunkering Świnoujście – Ystad maritime link”. The seminar was held on 25th January in Ystad, Sweden and was moderated by Mr. Emil Arolski, Chairman of the Polish LNG Platform. Over 60 participants attended the event along with the project consortium, including the Port of Ystad, Gaz-System S.A. and Polferries S.A. Key note speech by Swedish regional and governmental representatives as well as European officials underlined the critical importance of the maritime link project.
Polskie LNG has obtained a set of environmental and location decisions for all projects implemented under the LNG Terminal Expansion Program. The environmental permits are final, while the decisions issued by the Governor of West Pomerania are immediately enforceable (which stems directly from the provisions of the Special Act on the LNG Terminal).
On Sunday, January 27th 2019, PGNiG Polish Oil and Gas Company will receive another load of liquefied natural gas. It will be the 50th delivery to the President Lech Kaczyński LNG Terminal in Świnoujście. Thus the total LNG volume purchased so far by PGNiG will amount to approximately 5.7 bcm after regasification.
Swinoujscie - Ystad Maritime Link project was among the selected key EU initiatives aiming to invest nearly €700 million in sustainable and innovative transport. Project’s Grant Agreement has been recently signed by representatives of the European Commission and Project’s coordinator - Ystads Kommun. The project consortium comprises of Port of Ystad, Gaz System S.A. and its affiliated company Polskie LNG S.A., as well as Polferries S.A from Poland.
Recently, new members joined the Polish LNG Platform - Horus Energia and Best Systemy Grzewcze.
