Floating terminal and additional gas pipelines ready in 2025.
The Floating LNG Terminal in Gdańsk and additional sections of gas pipelines that will bring out the gas into the Polish system will be ready in 2025 - the governments plenipotentiary for strategic infrastructure Piotr Naimski told us Tuesday.
Naimski, who was a guest of TV Republika, reminded that the Polish transmission system operator, Gaz-System, is carrying out the investment of setting up a second LNG terminal in the Gdansk Bay.
The topic is about a Floating Storage Regasification Unit (FSRU), equipped with on-board re-gasification facilities for liquefied natural gas.
"Gaz System is conducting this investment, but perhaps construction of additional sections of gas pipelines that will take gas out of Gdańsk and into the Polish gas system may be more important in this project. Everything will be ready in 2025 "- Naimski declared.
The floating terminal would become the third - next to the terminal in Świnoujście and the Baltic Pipe gas pipeline - element of the so-called Northern Gate through which gas would be sent to Poland and our neighbors.
